I consider myself libertarian. And as such, it is my firm belief that in general, the government ought to leave people alone unless they are harming others. Sadly, the libertarian movement has all-too-often become a haven for anti-moralists of all sorts, and this has resulted in the bizarre situation where we find a party (the Libertarian Party) which claims to preach consistent non-aggression while defending the so-called right to abort. It is this sort of thinking, more concerned with the removal of personal responsibility than with morality, that has kept many people who come from conservative religious backgrounds (such as my own) from even considering libertarianism as a viable philosophy of government. Thankfully, we appear to be in the midst of a resurgence of libertarianism among pro-lifers like myself, as a variety of thinkers such as Jakub Bozydar Wisniewski take on the fallacies of the pro-abortionists among the non-aggression philosophers like Walter Block.
