The links below will lead you to all the Bible text of this project so far available. Everything is currently in the rawest of draft forms. The basic method is to go through the text of the World English Bible, fixing issues of style, grammar, etc. while fixing a variety of translation issues and adding relevant notes on the fly. This has produced a text which, in my opinion, is a considerable step forward from the starting point given by the World English Bible, but much work remains to be done.

Once this first round of work is finished for the whole Bible, a second round will involve closer proofreading and checking the translation for consistency, because in the process of overhauling the WEB I've changed several aspects of my still-evolving translation philosophy, leading to some inconsistencies between the various parts of the text.

Once those two rounds are completed, the next work will be to work on the notes, which, like translation, will require the development of a framework for deciding what is noteworthy and what is not, and how to handle notable issues. Though it is only possible right now to give the barest sketch of what I'd like to do with the notes, eventually I'd like them to cover all translatable differences among the major source texts of the Bible (Hebrew MT, Septuagint, Vulgate, Dead Sea Scrolls, the various Greek New Testament texts, etc); all points where significant alternative translations exist, and a variety of background and cross-reference issues.

The whole project as it exists in my mind is massive, demanding, and far beyond my capabilities to finish in the foreseeable future, but one of my greatest joys is knowing that I'm moving, step by step, toward something which has never before been done in the public domain. Whether it is ever finished or not, the work will be exciting and challenging.

For convenience, I've divided the text into four major blocks, each of which is partially through the first round of work:

The Law contains the five books of Moses.http://fontwords.com/bible/law.html

The Prophets contains Joshua, Judges, Samuel, and Kings, which continue the story begun in the law; and Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the twelve minor prophets.

The Writings contains the Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Song of Sons, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther, Daniel, Ezra-Nehemiah, and Chronicles.
