I wouldn't be upset if we just threw out both parties altogether and started just electing people on their personal merits. Though that does seem a bit far off at this point.

Yup. While I don't the Dem's to lose the Senate, or House, I would LOVE for Pelosi and Reid to lose. (Except Angle is a nut)

1) Fair enough. No need for us to argue about round in round in grand loopy circles.

2 - 3) Looks like we agree. 2 out of 3's not bad.

1.) Ain't going there. Unless we can examine things objectively, there is no point in discussing our disagreements

2.) Pelosi is an idiot, bless her little heart. SS is not meant to be a retirement program. A lot of people have 401K's, etc... raise the retirement age to 67. People are living longer, etc... and frankly, again, SS is only mean to be a safety net, not a retirement packaged.

3.) Amen and amen.

This is why two or more news sources are needed -

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/07/obama-administration-clarifies-rules-on-abortion-funding-in-health-care-legislation.html

I will state this for all the world to see - if the President allows this to go on, I will not vote for him. It does not appear that CNS is, um, crafting the argument well, only taking one side, however.

The OT mentions a number of prophets and prophetic utterances which never got any print at all. Such as, for example, the prophesying of Saul et al. in 1 Samuel 10, which is not recorded. So if the ancient Jews had a variety of prophets wandering about saying all sorts of God-inspired stuff that didn't make it into Scripture, I'd see no problem with a Tobit writing an uninspired book and having, first-hand or second-hand, prophetic knowledge about the New Jerusalem. (Of course, I can easily see how that could appear as a cop-out to a Catholic.)

And as for plagiarizing, that's what the Bible's full of. But if we take at face value John's claim that he saw all this stuff in a vision, he got his material directly through heavens big spiritual flatscreen. Then what he saw was just to some degree a repetition of previous prophecy. They just didn't have the same standards for information use back in the day, before copyright and mass printing and academia and whatnot.

Rather like indeed. So, how do we account for the closeness in Tobit's writing, some 1 to 300 years before Revelation? Is Tobit inspired? Was John plagiarizing?
