No. I probably really don’t have any Russian fans commenting on this site. I do, however, receive a large number of comments on this site that are written in Russian (or at least in the Cyrillic alphabet used in Russia) and send links to a variety of strange and unwonderful websites.

Now, I have nothing against the beatiful and angry-sounding Russian language. And I welcome cross-cultural dialogue, as it is an important part of the work of spreading the gospel, and on top of that it’s also just naturally cool. However, because I can’t read Russian, I have to assume that any comments I receive in the Russian alphabet are spam, and I delete them.

So this is a plea to all my Russian readers, even though I doubt you folks exist. If you know enough English to read this blog, try commenting in English and I’ll be happy to post your words and respond. Or you can feel free to comment in French, Latin, Spanish, or Portuguese and I should be able, with the help of a handy dictionary, to figure out what you’re saying.

Outside of that, though, I can’t help you. Maybe some day I’ll learn Russian, but learning four languages at a time is enough for me right now.
